Garage sale for a good cause

Bangalore: If you are in the mood to give away things you are unlikely to use, here’s news for you: the Canara Union Social Service League (CUSSL) based in Malleswaram is conducting its fifth annual garage sale on September 29 and 30.
You can give away old and used household items such as stainless steel articles, crockery, cutlery, clothes, furniture, furnishing, electrical and electronic goods, footwear, suitcases and curios. The items will be attractively priced and sold.
A core team and a bunch of volunteers have evolved a systematic process to receive the goods and sort, price and pack them in neatly labelled cartons.
The proceeds from the sale will go to the union’s Medical and Distress Relief Fund.
When the CUSSL members conducted the first garage sale in 2003, little had they thought that it would go on to become a well-appreciated annual feature.
