WHIZKID: Nischal Narayanam showing the gold medal he won at the World Memory Championship held in Bahrain during a press meet in city on Thursday. Hyderabad: Memory wizard Nischal Narayanam has done it again. This time he has walked away with the coveted World Memory Championship award 2007 and the gold medal at the 16th World Memory Championship competitions held at Bahrain recently. In a keenly fought event that drew 90 participants from 18 countries, 12-year-old Nischal outperformed most of the contestants in senior, junior and kids categories. Of the three contestants from India, Nischal was the youngest and the lone participant from Andhra Pradesh. The contest organised by the World Memory Sports Council, London, was held in 10 disciplines of memory. The little master has bagged the 27th rank in WMC 2007 while his world rank stands at 157. The prodigy told presspersons here on Thursday, that it was a memorable exercise and excellent exposure for him “I didn’t expect to win at the first attempt itself,” he said. A seventh class student of Gitanjali High School, Nischal has already entered the Guinness Book of World Records. He also has to his credit six books in mathematics and a mathematics laboratory. On Thursday Nischal along with his parents called on Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
