Bending backwards

The general perception among people that a CID probe is only meant to dilute a case seemed to be strengthening going by the special treatment being given to the son of a top politician in the State.

When the man in custody was taken to the ‘scene of offence’, the ‘respectful’ treatment given to him by the CID did not escape the public attention.

And for the lensmen who rushed to the house it was a rude shock.

Obviously, the man-in-custody, wearing designer clothes and really cool sun shades, did not want to be photographed.

While the CID cops maintained a respectful distance from the ‘accused’ person in their custody, he hurled threats at news photographers.

Holding out threats while in police custody is a new practice nowadays, it seems. But the threats did not matter as every newspaper went ahead with publishing the pictures.
