Demand for teachers: The association of parents at the Government Women’s Polytechnic College, Kalamassery, has decided to strengthen its agitation against the ‘delay’ in the appointment of enough staff for the architecture course offered by the institution. Parents said the authorities had failed to appoint faculty members for the last several years. The parents staged a march on the campus on Tuesday. Sargapadham: St. Teresa’s College lifted the overall championship at Sargapadham, an inter-collegiate literary competition that concluded here on Thursday. The college received the Sacred Heart ever-rolling trophy and cash prize of Rs. 3,000. U.C. College, Aluva, emerged runner-up. Sargapadham was organised by the Speakers’ Forum and the Literary Club of the college.
Applications invited: The Department of Hindi at the Cochin University of Science and Technology has invited applications for filling five seats (SC/ST category) in its postgraduate diploma programme in translation and functional Hindi. Candidates with Bachelor’s degrees with Hindi as the main subject or as optional should contact the Head of the department on October 4.
