GUNTUR: Automatic Traffic Signalling System will be installed at six major traffic junctions in the city, in an aim to streamline the vehicular traffic, Superintendent of Police Mahesh Chandra Laddha said on Thursday. Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a digital traffic signal at the Hindu College Centre here, he said that five more digital automatic traffic signal systems would be installed in the coming three months with contributions from donors. He thanked Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu of Tulasi Industries who has come forward to bear the expenses for setting up the traffic signal at a cost of Rs.7.5 lakh. The traffic signal would be fully automatic and would have a digital time clock and a sound system to announce pre-recorded messages.
