Girl run over by EMU train

Special Correspondent

TAMBARAM: A six-year-old girl was run over by an EMU while crossing the track with her elder brother and father near Pazhavanthangal station on Wednesday night.

According to informed sources, S. Vaidyanathan (39), a government employee and resident of Mambalam, had admitted his wife to a Government Hospital.

He was heading to his father’s house in Nanganallur to drop his children Krishnan (9) and Meenalochani.

Near the Thillaiganga Nagar subway, the three were suddenly hit by a suburban electric train.

While Meenalochani was killed on the spot, Mr. Vaidyanathan was injured and Krishnan escaped unhurt, police said.
