Skeletons found on trek route in Uttarakhand

Staff Correspondent

DEHRA DUN: The help of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) is being sought to recover five skeletons reported to be lying at Arbatal and Kalindikhal on the high-altitude Harsil-Kalindikhal-Arbatal-Arbanala-Ghastoli-Mana trek route, P. S. Selal, Chamoli Superintendent of Police, said on Thursday.

The skeletons, including that of a woman who might be of European origin, evident by the colour of her hair, were sighted by a trekking party from Lucknow who reported the matter to an Army patrol.

“We have to wait till the ITBP recovers the skeletons as no one has been reported missing on this trek route in recent years,” said Mr. Selal.
