Ghosal in main draw

London: Saurav Ghosal advanced to the main draw of the British Open squash championships after an 11-7, 11-8, 12-10 win over Australia’s Aaron Frankcomb in the finals of the qualifiers at Manchester on Wednesday.

However, other Indians, Ritwik Bhattacharya and Joshna Chinappa, crashed out in qualifying stages. Ritwik was outplayed 11-7, 11-4, 11-3 by Italian Davide Bianchetti, while Joshna stumbled in the first round qualifiers, losing to local favourite Fiona Moverely 9-7, 9-4, 9-1 in 24 minutes. — PTI
