KOCHI: Host China won both the men’s and women’s team titles in the Asian table tennis championship in Yangzhou. The team scored identical 3-0 wins in the finals, blanking Japan in the men’s section and Singapore in the women’s category. But, China suffered a big setback on Thursday when its World No.1 Ma Lin, last year’s World Cup champion, was forced to pull out of the men’s singles event with a stomach injury. The results (team finals): Men: China bt Japan 3-0 (Wang Hao bt Kaii Yoshida 11-9, 9-11, 12-10, 7-11, 11-6; Ma Long bt Jun Mizutani 11-9, 14-12, 11-6; Chen Qi bt Kenta Matsudaira 11-7, 11-3, 11-9)..
