Jamshedpur: A 40-year old woman was branded a witch and forced to eat excreta by four persons in Gopipur village in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, police sources said on Friday. Rukmini Devi was forced by four - Chandan Turi, Jasmati Turi, Raukia Turi and Gurucharan Mochi to eat excreta on September 12 last for allegedly practicing witchcraft, sources said. Following the incident, an FIR had been lodged in the Manoharpur police station under witchcraft act on the statement of Rukmini, sources said. The accused, who were averting arrest, were finally caught by the police on Thursday, sources added.
