KODAIKANAL: Cadres of the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam staged a demonstration before the municipality here on Friday condemning its failure to streamline drinking water to the town.
Presiding over the demonstration, Periakulam MLA O. Paneerselvam said the municipality failed to take action against those who damaged the main drinking water pipeline. The water tank was renovated at a cost of Rs.1.10 crore during the previous government led by the AIADMK, but the present regime failed to maintain it properly.
House pattas
Similarly, arrangements were made to issue house pattas to the poor on the hill before the Assembly elections. But the present DMK Government refused to implement them.
