Collector says papers pertaining to rebel TRS MLA’s election safe
Sangareddy: The ‘missing’ documents pertaining to the election of dissident Telangana Rashtra Samithi legislator Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy created a flutter in the Medak district’s treasury here on Friday.
The documents said to be 21 in number were required for submission to the Assembly Speaker who is looking into the demand for disqualification of all dissident MLAs.
As the information leaked out that the crucial papers were missing the Mandal Revenue Officer Nagesh was called for questioning, it was widely believed that the MLA himself was behind the missing document which could prove his political affiliation to TRS.
TRS demand
Meanwhile, the TRS also demanded that the documents be made public.
However, the Medak district Collector refuted the allegations and claimed that the documents, which were supposed to be submitted to Speaker for perusal, are intact and very much in the custody of the treasury.
Speaking to The Hindu he said that the purpose of the visit of the former MRO to the treasury office was coincidental and got nothing to do with the documents.
He opined that some vested interests might have spread the word .
