VISAKHAPATNAM: Rain forced the Andhra Cricket Association to reschedule its under-19 inter-zonal tournaments for the N. Venkata Rao trophy (one day) and P. Narasimha Raju trophy at Vizianagaram. The tournaments will commence on September 25. Rains being experienced since the last few days forced the ACA to postpone both tournaments, scheduled to commence on September 20 and to cut short the three-day matches (for the P. Narasimha Raju trophy) by a day. As the tournament to be followed by matches of one-day tournament could not commence on Thursday, ACA on Friday reduced the two-day matches to a one-day affair with fixed overs for each team. Thus the teams will play two limited-over matches on consecutive days during the league phase, one each for a different tournament. Final of the N. Venkata Rao trophy will be played on October 1 and the final of the other tournament on Oct. 2 and 3. A three-day match for the S.L. Narayana Row trophy will be held from Oct. 4 to 6, according to ACA vice-president P.R. Narayanaswami. — Special Correspondent
