Army expert teams for Panniar

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPRUAM: Two teams of technical experts from the Army will reach Panniar on Saturday to help locate the four employees of the Kerala State Electricity Board missing in the Penstock pipe burst tragedy there.

One team will reach Panniar from the Pangode Military Camp in the morning and another team from Bangalore in the afternoon, the Electricity Minister’s office told The Hindu over the telephone. The Navy has been searching for the missing persons in the reservoir which receives the waters from Penstock pipe. The search party’s view is that the missing persons would not have reached the reservoir. The debris from the pipe burst is several metres high downstream the location of the tragedy. All efforts will be made to locate the missing persons, the Electricity Minister’s office said.
