NSS gets first woman liaison officer

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: C. Anitha Shankar, teacher of English at S.N. College, Kollam, has taken over as the State Liaison Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS). She is the first woman to occupy the post, a press note issued here said.

Ms. Shankar has received the award for the best NSS programme officer three consecutive times from the University of Kerala and from the State government.

When she was a student, Ms. Shankar received the President’s Scouts and Guides medal.
