Police stations opened in Tiruvannamalai

TIRUVANNAMALAI: Food Minister E.V. Velu inaugurated three police stations and a police quarters in Tiruvannamalai district at separate functions on Friday.

The police stations are located at Paichal in Chengam panchayat union, Puduppalayam in Puduppalayam panchayat union and Desur in Thellar panchayat union. The police quarters is located at Mangalam in Thurinjapuram panchayat union.

Upgraded

Mr. Velu said the Paichal and Puduppalayam stations are among the 12 police outposts in Tamil Nadu, which were upgraded into full-fledged stations.

The Chief Minister has issued orders for the opening of a full-fledged police station in Anakkavur in Cheyyar taluk, he said. Mr. Velu complimented the State police for excellent service.K. Radhakrishnan, Inspector General of Police, North Zone, presided over the functions.

T.P. Sundaramoorthy, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Vellore Range, V. Balakrishnan, Superintendent of Police, Tiruvannamalai district, T. Venugopal, Tirupattur MP, Polur Varadhan, Chengam MLA, and Edhiroli Manian, Peranamallur MLA, spoke.
