Hike pension for physically challenged: MRPS

Sangareddy: The Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi has demanded that the State Government hike the pension for the physically challenged from Rs. 200 to Rs. 1,000 . Speaking to newsmen here on Saturday, Manda Krishna Madiga of MRPS said the should look into the amount of pension paid to the physically challenged in States like West Bengal, Gujarat and Punjab.

He warned the government that the MRPS would launch an agitation on December 3, the International day for disabled, if the pension was not hiked.

He also pointed out that the Usha Mehra committee’s report would be favourable for classification of the Scheduled Castes and added that the legislature is always above the Apex court.

The MRPS leader warned the UPA government at the Centre and the Congress government in the State to work for SC categorisation or face the wrath of Madigas in the next elections.
