Ahmedabad: Indian-American astronaut Sunita Williams, who is on a week-long visit to India, on Friday said “becoming a schoolteacher” was one of her unfulfilled wishes.
Answering questions posed by students present at a function organised to honour her, she said “I wanted to become a schoolteacher.”
Sunita was conferred the Sardar Vallabhai Patel Vishwa Pratibha Award by Gujarat Governor Nawal Kishor Sharma for her achievements in space travel.
Presentation
Sunita, who holds the record of longest stay in space by a woman, also gave an audio-video presentation about her experiences during her stay at the International Space Station.
Dressed in a blue suit worn by astronauts, Sunita, in her presentation, narrated how she performed various experiments, space walks and her daily chores, including eating and sleeping.
She showed the daily workouts regimen that the astronauts followed in order to stay fit in space.“I enjoyed every moment of my stay up there.” She talked about the different conditions that exist on earth and in a zero-gravity atmosphere. - PTI
