HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner C.V.S.K. Sarma and other department officials inspected all the routes of Ganesh immersion in Old City to assess the condition of roads on Saturday and instructed officials to speed up road repair works. The Commissioner and other officials inspected road patch works at Basheerbagh, Himayathnagar, Chikkadpally, Fever Hospital, Tilaknagar and probed the cause of water stagnation that is damaging the roads. Repairs will be carried out if necessary by constructing extension of drain pits, Mr. Sarma said adding that bottlenecks caused by big boulders at Himayathnagar will be removed. InstructionThe Commissioner further instructed officials to study and submit the feasibility report on the type of roads to be laid taking into account load of traffic, locality etc. The Commissioners also reviewed the work on Nalgonda Cross Roads Flyover and directed the officials to take up demolition works and inspected BT road works at Shalibanda. Some residents at Chandrayangutta requested the authorities to repair service roads and highlighted the problem of water stagnation on the roads.
