VISAKHAPATNAM: Three children died and two fishermen were reported missing on Saturday while one person died on Friday due to rains in the district. According to official sources, four-year-old Panchadarla Prasad of SC Colony of Sarabhavaram village in Rolugunta mandal died when slipped into a gedda while playing and Kadiri Appala Raju and K. Chanti, studying 6th and 5th classes respectively, died when they fell in a pit filled with rain water at Jalaripallipalem near Gangavaram in Peda Gantyada mandal. Chodipilli Somu, 45, and Chodipilli Adiviraju, 19, of Kothapatnam in Rambilli mandal were swept into the sea by a huge wave while they were guarding their boats near the shore. On Friday, M. Appala Naidu died when a wall collapsed on him at Mediwada in Ravikamatam mandal. Houses damagedAccording to information received here 77 houses were damaged due to rain in the last few days. Three of them were completely damaged. A road in Paderu Division was extensively damaged. It may be recalled that Paderu area received heavy rainfall on Friday and downpour continued on Saturday. Jerripothulapalem in Pendurty mandal was waterlogged.
