Property tax deadline

CHENNAI: The Chennai Corporation has asked house owners to pay property tax for the first half of 2007-08. It should be paid along with arrears by September 30 through cheque or demand draft drawn in favour of ‘Revenue Officer, Chennai Corporation.’ The tax can be paid to tax collectors at counters in zonal offices on working days or at the counter in Ripon Building between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on all working days. The tax can also be paid at the branches of Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, ICICI Bank, Dhanalakshmi Bank, UTI Bank, HDFC Bank, Syndicate Bank, IDBI Bank, United Bank of India and Chennai Central Cooperative Bank.
