Heavy rain in Kanyakumari

Nagercoil: Normal life was affected following heavy rain, which lashed various parts of the district on Saturday.

The water level is increasing in Pechipparai, Perunchani, Chittar I, Chittar II and Mukkadal dams.

Paddy crops in various parts of the district were submerged.

The Pazhayar, Valliyar and Kuzuthurai river witnessed heavy flow of rainwater. Tourists were asked not to take bath in the Thirparappu falls.

The inflow in the Pechipparai dam was 848 cusecs, 803 cusecs into Perunchani, 40 cusecs into Chittar I.
