Rajesh beats Sathiyan, enters quarterfinals

CHENNAI: LIC’s R. Rajesh overcame G. Sathiyan (SDAT-Chandra Academy) 11-6, 11-5, 9-11, 8-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-7 in a men’s pre-quarterfinal match of the Tristar Sports Club’s 11th State-ranking table tennis tournament at Montfort Indoor Stadium here on Saturday.

ABM scores win

ABM Infotech defeated Tamil Nadu Postal 2-1 in a Chennai Hockey Association first division league match at SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium here on Saturday.

Charles and M. Raja scored for ABM Infotech while Prem Kumar converted for TN Postal.

Football trials

Chennai Football Association will conduct trials to select the district u-19 team from Sept. 24 to 26 (6.30 a.m.) at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, Basin Bridge, No. 106 D’Caster Road, Pulianthope.

Players registered with CFA affiliated clubs and belonging to the district alone can take part. Also they should have been born on or after 1-1-1990. Players should bring with them bonafide age certificates from head of educational institution at the trials.

Volleyball tournament

The Nethaji Sports Club and Kancheepuram District Volleyball Association will jointly organise the State mini inter-district championship for boys and girls at the A.J.S. Nidhi School, Alandur from Oct. 10 to 14. Affiliated district units can send teams for this championship.
