BIDAR: Two persons were washed away in the flood waters in Manjra river near Halasi Tugoan in Bhalki taluk in Bidar district on Saturday evening. According to delayed reports reaching here, the victims have been identified as Vanita (30) and her daughter Sangeeta (12). Both were working in their agricultural fields when the tragedy struck. Sangeeta, who had gone to fetch water from the river, drowned and Vanita, who tried to save her, also drowned in the river. Their bodies are yet to be traced. Due to the release of water from Danegoan reservoir in Maharashtra, the Manjra has been in spate. Due to the floods in the river, more than 15 villages have been cut off. — Special Correspondent
