KOCHI: Kerala Finance Minister T.M. Thomas Isaac has said that the State Government’s financial health is in a very bad shape and on most days, the State is run on overdraft. No other State has such a bad financial position. To heal the financial ailment of the Government, tax collection, particularly of commercial taxes, needed to be shored up, Dr. Isaac told a crash training session for commercial tax officers held here on Sunday. He hoped the revenue deficit would be streamlined in the next three years. The tax collection and running of the Commercial Taxes Department were being revamped and new scientific methods employed.
