Rs. 1,200 cr. loan for SHGs announced

Rajahmundry: Minister for Social Welfare Pilli Subashchandra Bose announced that the district administration has set a target of Rs.1,200 crores to distribute among the Self Help Groups under 25 paise interest loans.

Capacity enhancement

He launched the Capacity Enhancement of Self Help Groups through cheque distribution in Anam Kala Kendram on Sunday, which was presided over by MLA R. Suryaprakash Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that from 1999 to 2004 the former government provided Rs.164 crores loan facility to women, but YS Rajasekhara Reddy-led Congress Government provided Rs.780 crores to Dwcra groups from 2004 and had set a target of distributing Rs.1,200 crores in the district.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Ch. Venugopalakrishna, MLA R. Suryapraksha Rao, MLC K. Durgesh, Mayor A. Veeraraghavamma, Commissioner C. Nagarajarao and others participated in the programme.
