TDP, TRS lock horns for political survival

Staff Reporter

Several TRS activists from party’s stronghold joining TDP triggers protests

SANGAREDDY: For the third day Telugu Desam and Telangana Rastra Samithi activists burnt effigies of K.Chandrasekhar Rao and N.Chandrababu Naidu respectively in a fight for survival in Medak district particularly in the Siddipet division .

Effigies burnt

The effigy-burning spree began immediately after hundreds of TRS activists from the strong hold of TRS joined TDP.

While nephew of KCR and Siddipet legislator T.Harish Rao addressed a press conference and warned the TDP not to enter his bastion the TDP responded the challenge with a massive rally from Gajwel to Siddipet.

In response to the TDP’s efforts the TRS allegedly sent its cadre to attack the so called ‘turn coats.’

Triggers protest

This triggered wide spread protests all across the district by the TDP cadre under the stewardship of its new district president Mainampalli Hanumantha Rao who announced that even party high command would not be able to stop them any more.

The TD leader took the fight right into the heart of Siddipet where he burnt the efiigy of KCR there by defying the dictum of Harish Rao not to enter his town.

The TRS cadre also responded with burning of effigies of Mr. Naidu here, in Siddipet, Ramaympet and Gajwel.

Meanwhile former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao who was in Narsapur on Sunday to participate in the Palle Palle ki TDP programme in the neighboring Pillutla of Sivvampet mandal told reporters that KCR was frustrated.

He said that KCR could not cheat the people of Telangana anymore in the name of separate State as he failed miserably in doing so.

Mandava said that KCR’s comments on Chandrababu shows his diabolical nature as he once enjoyed all coveted posts in TDP which was his political school.

District spokesperson Murali Yadav, vice president Madan Reddy accompanied him.

TDP rally

In Gajwel on Sunday, TDP activists took out a rally from the Indira statue and burnt the effigies of KCR and Harish Rao protesting the comments that they have made on Chandrababu Naidu.

Traffic held up

They also held up the traffic for almost two hours near the bus stand.

Constituency in charge Nandi Durgaiah, district executive secretary Pratap Reddy and constituency spokesperson Yadagiri organized the rasta roko with hundreds of TDP activists.
