31 kg of poppy recovered

Jammu: A suspected smuggler was arrested and 31 kg of poppy were recovered from him in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, official sources said.

During checking of a bus, which was on its way from Jammu to Chandigarh, Excise Department personnel recovered the poppy from packed bed rolls, they said.

One Sat Pal, a resident of Punjab and suspected to be an inter-state smuggler, was arrested in this connection.
