NEW DELHI: The Chettinadu Cultural Heritage Protection Council, Karaikudi, in Tamil Nadu in association with Delhi Tamil Sangam organised a two-day cultural festival in the Capital over the weekend where over 100 artistes performed various ancient arts.
Efforts
Dr. P.C. Alexander, Member of Parliament and former Governor of Tamil Nadu, who inaugurated the festival on Saturday lauded the efforts of the Council in its endeavour in protecting the ancient tradition and cultural heritage.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice Subbulakshmi Jagatheesan, Congress MP, E.M. Sudarsana Natchiappan, who represents Karaikudi Parliamentary constituency, chairman of the Law Commission, Justice A.R. Lakshmanan, were among those who witnessed the cultural programmes.
The Council made visual presentations of the temples constructed in Tamil Nadu reflecting Chettinad architecture.
Exhibition
Ancient artefacts, paintings and palm leaf products were displayed at an exhibition organised as part of the two-day festival.
