DLF gets to build at B.K.S. Marg, Sarojini Nagar DS Constructions gets to build at K.G. Marg NEW DELHI: The New Delhi Municipal Council has given the go-ahead for awarding of tenders for its much talked about multi-lot parking system to be built at Sarojini Nagar, Kasturba Gandhi Marg and B.K.S. Marg. The decision was taken at the civic body’s monthly council meeting held here this past week An initiative of the NDMC’s Projects Department, it has been developed on a public-private partnership model. Being built with the aim to decongest roads and improve utilisation of available space, the facility will enable vehicle owners to park their vehicles through a lift-enabled automated system into a vacant lot of the multi-floored building to be built at the three identified locations in the NDMC area. While DLF Limited has been awarded the tender for B.K.S. Marg and Sarojini Nagar for provision of car space for 1,408 and 824 cars respectively, DS Constructions Limited has qualified to provide car space for 1,582 cars on Kasturba Gandhi Marg. The source of revenue for the private participant will be commercial utilisation of 25 per cent of the total built-up area during the concession period of 30 years. The entire construction, operations and maintenance costs would be financed by the private participants who will be allowed to charge a maximum of Rs.10 per hour per vehicle for the parking facility.
