TIRUCHI: Vehicular movements on the Tiruchi–Chennai national highway near Samayapuram was hit for few hours after a container lorry overturned on Pallividai bridge after hitting a cyclist on Sunday. The lorry carrying fertilisers was on its way to Madurai from Chennai when the vehicle hit a cyclist and overturned in the melee. The injured cyclist was taken to the government hospital here treatment. Following the accident, vehicles were diverted via Mannachanallur, Thuraiyur to reach Perambalur. The police said normal traffic was restored after over two hours. The Samayapuram police are investigating.
