Auto driver assaulted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 24-year-old autorickshaw driver was admitted to Government Medical College Hospital with injuries in the head following a clash near Kuzhivilakam, Valiathura, on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Valiathura police, Vipin, of Kuzhivilakam allegedly splashed mud on two persons on a motorcycle while driving his autorickshaw, near Kuzhivilakam, around 2.30 p.m. Following the incident, the accused, Robinson, 23, and Richard, 24, also of the same locality, assaulted Vipin. A hunt is on for them, the police said. The police also suspect personal rivalry to be a motive for the attack.

Cameraman assaulted

Meanwhile, the cameraman of a television channel who went to cover the road blockade organised by the residents of the locality in the evening in protest against the attack sustained injuries after he was assaulted by the people for shooting the protest.
