Durban: The Indian team was fined for slow over-rate, while paceman S. Sreesanth was docked 25 per cent of his match fees for excessive appealing during the semifinal victory over Australia on Saturday in the World Twenty20 cricket championship.
Sreesanth had kept on appealing for a leg-before decision against Matthew Hayden during the fourth over of Australia’s innings and was found to breach Clause 1.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct by match referee Chris Broad.
India was found to fall short by one over after taking time allowances into consideration and the players were docked five per cent of their match fees with skipper Dhoni fined double that amount, an ICC release added. — PTI
