Town to remain ‘Pondicherry’

PUDUCHERRY: The Government has decided to adopt the name of the territory as the “Union Territory of Puducherry” and retain the name for the town as “Pondicherry Town.”

A press release from the Law Department on Monday said an order in this regard had been issued as per the Pondicherry Adaptation of Laws Order, 2007 under Section 8 of the Pondicherry (Alteration of Name) Act, 2006. — Staff Reporter
