Councillors stall proceedings

ADILABAD: Councillors belonging to the Left parties and MIM on Monday disrupted the proceedings of Indiramma Sambaralu organised for disbursal of sanction letters to beneficiaries of Indiramma wards in Adilabad Municipality. Adilabad MLA C. Ramchander Reddy however, said that the sanction letters would be distributed to beneficiaries at ward-level soon.

No sooner the proceedings of the meeting began at the DIET ground, MIM, CPI and CPI (M) councillors created noisy scenes alleging discrimination in selection of beneficiaries. MLA and Municipal chairman Digambar Rao Patil tried in vain to clarify. Mr. Ramchander Reddy asked the councillors to represent the matter along with the list of eligible persons from their wards so that houses and pensions can be allotted to them at a later stage.

However, when the agitating councillors did not relent, the MLA left the venue assuring to distribute the letters in wards.
