It will create a platform for students to interact with HR executives 1,300 degrees quiz to be organised Kakinada: As many as 1,200 students spread over to 35 engineering, MBA and MCA colleges in the districts of East and West Godavari and Visakhapatnam are expected to attend the mega event ‘ CORP EVE-07’ to be held here on September 29. The Kakinada Institute of Engineering and Technology, sponsoring the event, has chosen the Rangaraya Medical College as the venue. Giving the details of the event to newsmen here on Monday, P. Hemant Kumar chief of ECE, B. Varaprasad Vice principal and Ramakrishna placement officer said that the main idea was to create a platform to rural engineering students to interact with human resource executives of multi national companies like TCS, Satyam, Infosys, Wipro, CTS, Syntel and Group- M. During the interaction session, they said, the HR experts would explain the mode of interviews they conduct in their companies and the characteristics the students acquire to join the companies. They also brief the students on subject skills, management skills, group discussions and analytical skills and leadership qualities. Thrilling quizThe major and much thrilling programme arranged as a part of the event, they said, was the 1,300 degrees quiz. They said the name of the quiz itself was fascinating and thought provoking as at 1,300 degrees temperature the coal will transform into a diamond. A student would be subjected to such a high degree of thought provoking questions and those successfully face the quiz would emerge as the true professional like a diamond, they remarked. 1The winners would be presented prizes such as laptops, mobile phones, Ipods, DVD players. The participants would be subjected to psychometric assessment and rating cards would be issued accordingly. They said that Kota Sivakumar HR trainer for 35 companies would conduct the psychometric assessment.
