Badminton tourney to begin on September 27

150 players to attend the event

Kakinada: As many as 150 players and 50 officials from all the southern States would be attending the South zone Inter-State Badminton Championship-2007 to be held at the District Sports Authority Indoor Stadium here from September 27 to September 30, according to Kakinada Badminton Association President Chundru Govinda Raju and Secretary DAN Parasad Varma. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, they said that among the participant ten national players would be from different States. The championships would be conducted under the auspices of District Badminton Association, AP State Association and Badminton Association of India. Veteran player P. Gopichand and his wife Lakshmi would be felicitated as a part of the championships. Union Minister of State for Defence M.M. Pallamraju would be the chief guest for the valedictory function.
