Victory hailed

TIRUCHI: Festive mood permeated Tiruchi what with cricket fans bursting crackers to celebrate India’s thrilling win over Pakistan in the Twenty20 World Cup final.

Passion simply ran high among the crowds gathered outside TV showrooms as and when a Pakistani wicket fell down.

Tension was palpable since India had failed to post a big score. Smiles were back on the faces of the crestfallen fans after R.P. Singh made an early strike.

Earlier in the day, people of all religions offered special prayers in the places of worship.
