BEJJANKI (KARIMNAGAR DT): Differences between the Communist Party of India (CPI) legislator Chada Venkat Reddy and former legislator Bomma Venkateshwar over supremacy in the Indurthi Assembly Segment came to the fore during the ‘Indiramma Sambaralu’ programme in Bejjanki mandal headquarters on Monday.
As soon as the meeting was convened, Mr. Chada Venkat Reddy raised objection over occupying of the dais by former legislator Bomma Venkateshwar and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) member and Visaka Charitable Trust chairman G. Vivek on the dais saying that it was ‘protocol violation’.
Ex-MLA’s contention
Mr. Reddy flayed officials for inviting non-officials on to the dais at the government programme. “Why should we remain silent when non-officials are occupying the dais and violating protocol,” he said.
At this moment, Bejjanki Mandal Parishad president Ravinder Reddy pacified the legislator.
Later, Mr. Bomma Venkateshwar found fault with local legislator for alleging that there was protocol violation at the meeting stating that they attended the programme as it was the public function organised in the village and not a government function. “No one would stop us from attending public functions as we are also working for the cause of developmental programmes in the constituency,” he added.
