New Delhi: On the reconstituted All-India Congress Committee, Andhra Pradesh leader Arun Kumar has been appointed general secretary in charge of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Motilal Vora will remain treasurer with additional charge of Administration. The former Karnataka Chief Minister and Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission Veerappa Moily will be general secretary in charge of Andhra Pradesh, Assam and the Department of Policy Planning and Coordination and Media. The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh will look after Uttar Pradesh and Publicity, while senior leader Mohsina Kidwai will be in charge of Kerala, Lakshadweep, West Bengal and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and the Mahila Congress. Minister of State Ajay Maken has been given charge of Jharkhand and Orissa. The former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has been made general secretary in charge of Delhi, in place of Uttar Pradesh, and the Seva Dal. B.K. Hari Prasad has been given additional charge of Goa along with Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. In charge of PunjabMargaret Alva will be in charge of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland, besides Maharashtra. Earlier Janardan Dwivedi was looking after Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab. He will now look after Organisation, organisational elections and training. Senior leader Kishore Chandra Deo has been given charge of Bihar Programme Coordination, while Mukul Wasnik will be in charge of Rajasthan. The party’s Chief Whip in Rajya Sabha, V. Narayanasamy, is general secretary in charge of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Prithviraj Chavan will be general secretary in charge of Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Tripura. Dhawan for HimachalLabour Minister Oscar Fernandes will be general secretary in charge of AICC meetings and sessions, CEC and CWC; and R.K. Dhawan, general secretary in charge of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Rajya Sabha member Satyavrat Chaturvedi will be general secretary in charge of Department and Cells.
