Two ULFA militants killed in encounter

Dibrugarh (Assam): Two members of the United Liberation Front of Asom were killed in an encounter with the police here on Tuesday, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off that 12 hardcore members of the ULFA’s dreaded 28th battalion were holed up in a forest at Pasalu in the Tingkhong police station area, the police, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Ashim Swargiary, launched an operation on Tuesday morning.

The militants were identified as Nabin Dutta alias Udayan Dutta and Ram Gogoi.
