Touching shades of glory

The dead tell no tales, but memories about them fail to die. At a memorial meet in Kochi, E.H.Valsan, a scholar, was fondly remembered by a motley group of his friends and associates. At the function organised by the V.K. Krishna Menon Educational Initiative, rich tributes were paid through a poem, written by Joseph, a senior advocate. The verse “…You gave your shade to everyone like a tree,…” touched the hearts of the audience. How many individual s, living or dead, are eligible for such a claim?
