Kerala
The short stretch from Pazhavangadi to the second entrance to the city’s railway station has never been a dream road for either pedestrians or motorists. The primary reason is the overpowering stench emanating from the Amayizhanchan canal that lines the road. Often the stench is so bad that those travelling by car hasten to roll up the windows. Nowadays things have gone from bad to worse here. The stench is still there. The fact that this road is a collection point f or garbage makes the stench even worse. That is not all. Water oozing from piles of garbage collects in the potholes that the road is rich in. The combination defies description. Two wheeler riders who brave this road are rewarded with generous splashes from these pools of water. When it rains and the road gets waterlogged the only people who doggedly use the road are perhaps those who drop by the theatre situated half way up the road. G. Mahadevan
