On the move: The cadets who reached Rajahmundry from Khammam on Tuesday. Rajahmundry: Deputy Director General of NCC, Andhra Pradesh, Air Commandant AC Bharali has flagged off NCC cadets sailing to Samalkot, who came from Khammam district. Speaking to newspersons here on Tuesday he said that his Directorate as well as the government are contemplating to reduce the three-year NCC cadet training to 2-year from this year. The Deputy Director General said that the intake of NCC cadets will increase with this decision. He expressed unhappiness that recruitment of NCC cadets into Armed forces is only 7 per cent . He said that according to statistics available, there are 13 lakh NCC cadets in the country which comes to 4 per cent of total student population in the country. Bharali said that in India, Andhra Pradesh stands numero uno in the country with 11 per cent. Kakinada Group Commandant Mohan, S.S.N. Murthy and others participated in the meeting.
