NEW DELHI: In significant changes in PCC posts, H.N. Bahuguna’s daughter Rita Bahuguna has replaced Salman Khurshid in Uttar Pradesh and C.P. Joshi has replaced S.C. Kalla in Rajasthan. Rajinder Kaur Bhattal has been named president of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee, with Mohinder Singh Kaypee as working president. Yashpal Arya will be president of the Uttarakhand PCC Congress Committee in place of Harish Rawat. For the rest, there are no changes in the PCCs for now, said party general secretary Janardan Dwivedi, who announced the new appointments. Media departmentThe former Karnataka Chief Minister Veerappa Moily has been appointed chairman of the Media Department in place of Mr. Dwivedi, who is said to be unwell. Mr Dwivedi will, however, chair the Training Department. Minister of State for Communications Shakeel Ahmed has been included on the media panel along with Mohan Prakash. Mr. Moily also heads the Department of Policy Planning and Coordination. New post for DigvijayThe former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh will head the Publicity and Publication Committee, which has Rahul Gandhi as a member. Party sources said the reconstituted AICC carved out a more active role for Mr. Gandhi and the younger generation in the Congress.
