Man kills three children, wife and hangs self in Pattukottai

THANJAVUR: Thirukannan (45) of Bhagyam Nagar in Pattukottai in Thanjavur district allegedly killed his wife and three of his children and allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself on Monday.
Thirukannan killed his wife Rani (35) his children Divya (5), Muneeswaran (3) and Mahalakshmi (2) by cutting them using a sickle and later hanged himself. Family dispute is said to be the reason for the extreme step.
When the neighbours saw the door of the house of Thirukannan locked in the morning, they broke it open and saw the five dead.
A police team led by Marudappan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pattukottai visited the spot and registered a case. Thirukannan is a native of Kadaladi of Ramanathapuram district. He moved to Pattukottai a few years back and was selling condiments.
