Cable operators seek Karunanidhi’s intervention

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Federation of Cable T.V. Associations and the Federation of Cable Operators, Tamil Nadu, have sought the intervention of the Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi to end the “violence” unleashed under “political clout” by a section of cable TV operators.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, D.G.V.P. Sekar, Chief Coordinator of the associations, said mobs destroyed control rooms of cable TV operators in Madurai, Ramanathapuram, Nagercoil and interior South. They had sent telegrams to the Chief Minister and the Director General of Police. Mr. Sekar wanted the Government to ensure safety of equipment in the control rooms and the personal safety of the operators.
