BANGALORE: Growing Wild, in association with Wildlife Conservation Society, Centre for Wildlife Studies and Wildlife First, has organised an event featuring a film show and interactive session with a filmmaker as part of the Wildlife Week celebrations on October 2. Programme convener Killi Valavan told presspersons here on Tuesday that “Monsoon – India’s God of Life”, produced by Shekar Dattatri, would be screened at 10 a.m. at Mangala Mantapa, NMKRV Women’s College, Jayanagar III Block. Mr. Dattatri would talk about the film before the screening and would interact with the audience after the screening. “Monsoon – India’s God of Life” is a fascinating chronicle of how the wildlife of India copes with summer and how the arrival of the South-West Monsoon transforms their lives and the land they live in. Filmed in some of the country’s most spectacular wilderness areas, the cinematic work has among its cast one-horned rhinoceros, tiger, elephant, lion-tailed macaque and a host of lesser known animals. The event will feature screenings of two films, “Point Calimere – Little Kingdom by the Coast” made by Mr. Dattatri, and “Saving Planet Earth – Tigers”, a BBC production made exclusively for schoolchildren, in the afternoon.
