St. Joseph’s Engineering College triumphs

Coimbatore: St. Joseph’s Engineering College (Chennai) defeated host PSG College of Arts and Science 29-24, 29-23 to emerge the champion in the 33rd State-level inter-collegiate ball badminton tournament for the PSG Trophy at the PSG CAS courts here on Tuesday.

St. Joseph’s College (Tiruchi) outplayed Loyola College (Chennai) 29-19, 29-13 for the third place.

The results:

Final: St. Joseph’s EC (Chennai) bt PSG CAS (Cbe) 29-24, 29-23. Third place: St. Joseph’s (Tiruchi) bt Loyola (Chennai) 29-19, 29-13.

Boost Cricket Cup

The Coimbatore District Cricket Association will host the Boost Cricket Cup 30-overs-a-side cricket tournament for under-17 boys, sponsored by Boost, during the first week of October. Players born on or after September 1, 1990, are eligible.

The winner of the tournament will play the other district finalist, and the final winner will get to play in the National zone.

Big win for GRD

Favourite Dr. GRD College of Science thrashed Bishop Ambrose College of Arts and Science 50-10 in its opening fixture of the Bharathiar University inter-collegiate basketball tournament for men at the GRD courts on Tuesday.
