Harish stuns Nikhil

Coimbatore: R. Harish of Tamil Nadu upset fourth seed Nikhil Reddy of Karnataka 6-1, 6-2 to enter the under-14 boys’ singles quarterfinals of the CDTA-AITA Talent Series tennis tournament at the CDTA Tennis Centre here on Tuesday.

Sixth seed V. Vishal of Tamil Nadu and seventh seed V. Prithiv Haas of Andhra Pradesh were the others who failed to reach the last-eight stage.

TT tournament postponed

The Virudhunagar district State-ranking table tennis tournament, scheduled for September 29 and 30 at the Kaliswari College, has been postponed in view of the bandh announced on October 1, a release from TNTTA said.
